The Christian Life Challenge
Life is crazy and people can be even crazier.Think about people can be insensitive, rude,
crude, unappreciative, uncompassionate, hurtful,
and down right hateful at times and that's
just Church folk we haven't even begun to
talk about those outside the body of Christ.
And finding ways to turn the other cheek can
be hard to do when you only have two or four
if you're counting all of them.
But the
truth
is that everyday with in just
a few
moments
through our thoughts, actions,
or deeds
we hurt,
anger, disappoint, and
grieve
our heavenly
Father. Yet, He loves
us so
much
that on daily, moment by moment
bases
He forgives,
renews, and restores us.
This month's Christian Life Challenge is to practice true FORGIVENESS.
Forgiveness
to those
who don't deserve it,
haven't
earned
it, and most likely won't
change
or appreciate
it; Forgiveness of those
things
that
people do to get under your skin
and of
the big
things that you've been struggling
with
for a
while now (you may need to ask
Holy
Spirit
to help reveal this to you if
you say
you have
nothing); Forgiveness of
those
people
that maliciously, and with all
intent
try to
misuse and abuse you; And the
hardest
most
challenging is forgiveness of
self,
all your
mistakes, regrets, unaccomplishments,
and wrong
doings.
The enemy
uses
our feelings to keep us distracted.
We get
so bound
up with what people do or
have
done
to us that we loose focus of what
all our
Savior
Jesus Christ endured on the
cross.
And He
was still able to forgive those
who without
cause
cursed, abused, scorned,
mocked,
and killed
Him for our sake.
If you
need
to make a phone call, write a
letter,
send
an email, or meet with the one
you need
to forgive
do it this month even
if the
person
is in the pew or pulpit. And
remember
you are
not looking for the other
persons
response
you are looking to glorify
God through
yours.
Ask God
through
the power of the Holy Spirit
Who is
very
alive in every believer to help
your
heart
to overcome unforgiveness this
month.
For if
you forgive
men when they sin against
you,
your
heavenly Father will also forgive
you".
